NAACP Dismisses President Cornell William Brooks: Mr. Brooks will leave at the end of June after three years as the civil-rights group’s leader, reports The New York Times. The organization’s board decided it needed to embark on a “systemwide refresh” and install a more dynamic president to take advantage of liberal activists energized by President Trump’s election.

Australian Mining Magnate to Donate $300 Million for Cancer Research and Other Causes: The gift by 55-year-old Andrew Forrest will also support disadvantaged people and the fight to end slavery around the world, reports the Associated Press. The donations will be made to various charities over the next several months. Mr. Forrest is the chairman of a mining company and has a fortune of $4.3 billion, according to Forbes.

Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates Pledge $100 Million for Women Entrepreneurs Fund: The World Bank-led fund will help female small-business owners and entrepreneurs in the Middle East gain access to finance, markets, and professional networks, writes The Wall Street Journal (subscription). Ivanka Trump proposed the creation of the fund, though she will not manage or raise money for it, according to the Journal.
