Federal Inquiry Into NYC Police Activity Expands to Include Mayor’s Former Nonprofit

April 11, 2016 | Read Time: 1 minute

Federal investigators are looking into whether real-estate developers and union leaders who donated to a nonprofit that supported the campaign and agenda of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio received special treatment, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed sources. The sources did not provide details.

The investigation is focusing on two businessmen who raised money Mr. de Blasio’s campaign and for the nonprofit, the Campaign for One New York, which shut down earlier this year after criticism it received for accepting unlimited money from people and entities that had business in front of the city. A spokesman for the nonprofit denied wrongdoing.
