Marcus Fund Gives Ga. Hospital $75 Million for Heart Care

March 18, 2016

Piedmont Healthcare has received $75 million from the Marcus Foundation to establish a cardiac-care facility, Atlanta-area media company Neighbor Newspapers writes. The money will be used to establish the Marcus Heart and Vascular Center at the community hospital’s Atlanta campus.

The foundation, led by Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus, donated $20 million to Piedmont in 2012 to launch a center for the study and treatment of heart-valve problems. Earlier this month it gave $25 million for a new blood-services facility in Israel.
