Yogurt Mogul Is Latest Billionaire to Make Giving Pledge

Hamdi Ulukaya, the founder and chief executive officer of yogurt maker Chobani, tells the Associated Press that he will donate at least half of his fortune, estimated at $1.41 billion.
The Turkey-born entrepreneur said he is signing on to the Giving Pledge, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett’s campaign to persuade billionaires to commit a majority of their wealth to charitable work.
Mr. Ulukaya, whose company fueled the surging popularity of Greek-style yogurt, said his philanthropic focus would be helping refugees around the world. He plans to finance a foundation called Tent that will raise awareness about refugee crises and provide medical, educational, and other aid to displaced people. Mr. Ulukaya pledged $2 million last fall to assist Syrian and Iraqi refugees.
