Background: Mr. Munger is vice chairman of the investment company Berkshire Hathaway.

Mr. Munger, 91, gave $65.8-million to the University of California at Santa Barbara to build housing for visiting physicists. The donor’s grandson, Charles Munger III, earned bachelors and masters degrees in computer science from the university in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
