Ga. Health System Gets $30-Million for Expansion

September 30, 2014

Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus’ foundation has donated $30-million to Atlanta’s Grady Health System to improve its emergency facilities and its outpatient center for stroke patients, the Albany Herald of Georgia reports.

Two-thirds of the gift from the Marcus Foundation will go toward Grady’s new emergency department, expected to be completed in 2016. The rest will finance renovations to the hospital’s Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center, which was established in 2009 with a $20-million gift from the foundation.
