United Way Worldwide, the country’s biggest nonprofit organization, has hired a veteran telecommunications and advertising executive to help energize its brand, reports the Associated Press.
The Alexandria, Va.-based parent of 1,800 United Way chapters worldwide appointed Vicki Lins to serve as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. She most recently held a similar post with advertising firm Clear Channel Outdoor and previously spent 15 years in the cable TV industry, holding leadership positions at Comcast.
