$60-Million Gift to Boost KSU Academics and Athletics
March 3, 2014
The family of a longtime Kansas State University benefactor has donated $60-million to the institution to support upgrades at its football stadium and support a broad range of academic programs, the Associated Press and the Kansas City Star write.
Two-thirds of the gift from the Jack Vanier family will support scholarships, faculty positions, and other academic aid at several colleges at the university’s campuses in Manhattan and Salina, Kan. The remaining $20-million will go to the Kansas State athletic program for improvements at Bill Snyder Family Stadium at the Manhattan campus.
