At a charity that provides meals for 3,800 children every weekday, streamlining the process of creating and distributing that food is very important.
And fortunately for Kids’ Food Basket, in Grand Rapids, Mich., a local business had a team of efficiency experts ready to volunteer.
Bridget Clark Whitney, executive director at the charity, says the “operational excellence” team from Amway Global made a big impact on her organization’s day-to-day operations. The group increased production in one facility by 57 percent in one year through advice about handling inventory and managing volunteers.
“They were able to come and volunteer and spend some of their time lending their skill to help us solve one of society’s most pressing problems,” Ms. Whitney says.
