National Trust For Historic Preservation Appoints New President; Other Personnel Changes in the Nonprofit World

Aeras Global TB Vaccine Foundation (Rockville, Md.): Appointed James E. Connolly, executive vice president and general manager at Wyeth Vaccines (Madison, N.J.), to be president and chief executive officer.

Alliance for the Arts (New York): Announced the resignation of Randall Bourscheidt, president, effective on December 31. He will become a consultant for the organization.

American Jewish Historical Society (New York): Appointed Jonathan Karp, chair of the Judaic Studies department at the State U. of New York at Binghamton, to be executive director.

Bolder Giving (Arlington, Mass.): Appointed Jason Franklin, deputy director of the 21st Century School Fund (Washington), to be executive director. (See article.)

Center of Creative Arts (St. Louis): Appointed Kelly Lamb Pollock, general manager, to be executive director.


Court Appointed Special Advocates/Los Angeles: Appointed Dilys Tosteson Garcia, founding partner at Garcia & Associates (San Anselmo, Calif.), to be executive director.

Everybody Wins (New York): Appointed Ruth Rathblott, associate executive director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, to be executive director of this group that encourages children to read.

Heifer Foundation (Little Rock, Ark.): Appointed Domingo Barrios, founder and president of the Nonprofit Coach (Pearland, Tex.), to be president and chief executive officer. (See article.)

Indian Land Tenure Foundation (Little Canada, Minn.): Appointed Jason Booth, owner of the Patient Source (West St. Paul), to be vice president of development and communications.

International Center for Research on Women (Washington): Appointed Sarah Degnan Kambou, interim president and chief operating officer, to be president. She succeeds Geeta Rao Gupta, who is now a senior fellow at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.


Kalamazoo College, Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership (Kalamazoo, Mich.): Appointed Jaime M. Grant, director of the Policy Institute at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (Washington), to be executive director.

Loyola U. Maryland (Baltimore): Appointed Megan Gillick, senior director of development for intercollegiate athletics and associate campaign director at Oregon State U. (Corvallis), to be vice president for advancement.

Max Reger Foundation of America (New York): Appointed Ericka Guerrero, chief of staff, to be executive director of this organization, which provides music education and performance opportunities for children and professionals.

National Trust for Historic Preservation (Washington): Appointed Stephanie Meeks, president and chief executive officer of Counterpart International (Arlington, Va.), to be president.

Plan International-USA (Washington): Appointed Tessie San Martin, group vice president for international development at Abt Associates (Cambridge, Mass.), to be chief executive officer of this group that helps needy children around the world, effective October 1.


ProPublica (New York): Appointed Debra Goldberg, senior vice president for development at the Center for American Progress (Washington), to be vice president for development.

Refugees International (Washington): Announced the resignation of Dan Glickman, president. Board member and former deputy United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees L. Craig Johnstone will serve as interim president.

Salvation Army (Alexandria, Va.): Appointed William Roberts, territorial commander for the Kenya West Territory, based in Kakamega, to be national commander. He succeeds Israel L. Gaither, who plans to retire.

U. of Dallas: Appointed Amanda Rainey, executive director of development at Saint Louis U., to be vice president for advancement.

Women’s Refugee Commission (New York): Appointed Sarah Costa, regional director at the Global Fund for Women, based in New York, to be executive director.

Alfred P Sloan Foundation (New York): Appointed Leisle Lin, executive vice president at the Nathan Cummings Foundation (New York), to be vice president for finance.

Annie E. Casey Foundation (Baltimore): Appointed Brenda Donald, secretary for the Maryland Department of Human Resources (Baltimore), to be vice president for its Center for Effective Family Services and Systems.

Atlantic Philanthropies (New York): Appointed Fran Barrett, director of the Community Resource Exchange (New York), to be capacity-building director; Nobayeni Dladla, health attaché with the Permanent Mission of South Africa to the United Nations (New York), to be country representative for South Africa, based in Johannesburg; and Dall W. Forsythe, a professor of practice, public administration, and financial management for the Wagner School of Public Service at New York U., to be vice president for finance and operations.


Greater Milwaukee Foundation: Appointed Ellen M. Gilligan, vice president for community investment at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, to be president and chief executive officer, effective September 1. She succeeds Douglas M. Jansson, who plans to retire.

Howard Hughes Medical Institute (Chevy Chase, Md.): Appointed Cheryl A. Moore, chief operating officer for the institute’s Janelia Farm Research Campus in Ashburn, Va., to be chief operating officer.

J. Paul Getty Trust (Los Angeles): Announced the death of James N. Wood, president and chief executive officer, on June 12. He was 69. Deborah Marrow, director of the Getty Foundation (Los Angeles), will serve as interim president and chief executive officer. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation (Lansdowne, Va.): Appointed Louis Caldera, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress (Washington), to be vice president of programs.

John S. and James L. Knight Foundation (Miami): Appointed Kevin L.J. Davis, chief operating officer at the Wrap News Web site (Santa Monica, Calif.), to be chief executive officer of the Investigative News Network, a collaboration of 32 nonprofit news groups that promote public-service journalism; Donna Frisby-Greenwood, director of the Office of College and Career Awareness at the School District of Philadelphia, to be program director for Philadelphia; and Benoit Wirz, a co-founder and partner of USGlobal, LLC (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), to be director of business consulting.


Lumina Foundation for Education (Indianapolis): Appointed Haley Glover, associate commissioner for policy and planning studies at the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (Indianapolis), to be director of convening strategy, and Elizabeth Gutierrez, a program director for education initiatives at the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund (San Francisco), to be director of state policy.

McKnight Foundation (Minneapolis): Appointed Aimee Witteman, executive director of the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (Washington), to be environment program officer.
