Nonprofit Group Buys Section of Redwood Forest

June 15, 2007

The Redwood Forest Foundation, a nonprofit conservation group in Gualala, Calif., has purchased 50,000 acres of redwood forest for $65-million and plans to use it for commercial timber harvesting while protecting the land from development, the Los Angeles Times reports.
