Movie Company to Help Save Tasmanian Devils From Extinction
May 31, 2007
Warner Brothers will donate 82 cents for each Looney Tunes DVD it sells, to help save the Tasmanian devil from extinction, reports the Associated Press.
Taz, one of the most popular Looney Tunes characters, is based on the animal, which comes from the island of Tasmania. In some regions, as many as 90 percent of the marsupials have died from a contagious cancer, which causes disfiguring facial tumors and death.
Proceeds from the DVD sales will be directed to the University of Tasmania to support efforts to help the animals.
