The Live Earth concerts — which aim to raise awareness about climate change — will feature a long list of big names in music, including Madonna, the Beastie Boys, and Kanye West, reports the Associated Press.
Other performers include the Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Fall Out Boy, Foo Fighters, Keane, John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rihanna, and Smashing Pumpkins. The shows will be performed all over the world — even in Antarctica — the organizers told the newspaper.
Proceeds from the concerts will create a foundation to fight climate change, led by the Alliance for Climate Protection, an organization whose chairman is former Vice President Al Gore.
