Boris Berezovsky has provided $500,000 to establish a foundation to memorialize former KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko, reports Reuters.
The foundation will help cover legal costs associated with seeking compensation for victims poisoned by Polonium 210, the radioactive substance that was used to kill Mr. Litvinenko. The foundation will not directly pay victims.
Mr. Berezovsky called for the British government to find Mr. Litvinenko’s killer, saying, “The UK government must uncover this crime or risk being seen as incapable of protecting the residents of this country. We are ready to do all we can to give the British government our helping hand.”
