President’s Daughter Writing Book on Poverty

March 7, 2007 | Read Time: 1 minute

Jenna Bush, one of President Bush’s twin daughters, is writing a book for teenagers about a 17-year-old single mother in Panama who has HIV, reports USA Today.

The book, entitled Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope, will conclude with “a call to action,” she says, adding that she hopes she can “put a face on statistics” to get young people involved with helping others. “There’s so much they can do,” she says.

Ms. Bush is currently working in Panama as an unpaid intern with Unicef, and says she will donate her earnings from the book to that organization. HarperCollins is releasing Ana’s Story this fall, reports the newspaper.
