The anonymous blog Philanthropybeat offers some suggestions on candidates who can fill the next vacancy at a big foundation — prompted in part by a posting a few days ago on White Courtesy Telephone about the search for a new head of the Ford Foundation.
Among the 10 potential candidates: former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, First Lady Laura Bush, and Scooter Libby.
Here’s what Philanthropybeat says about the qualifications of some of the nominees:
— Scooter Libby: Pros: Understands the fund-raising challenges of grantees. Cons: Could be unavailable until 2017.
Who would you add to Philanthropybeat’s list of chief executive candidates — along with their pros and cons?
