Getty Trust Revamps Its Ethics Policies

February 2, 2007 | Read Time: 1 minute

The Getty Trust has submitted plans for revising its operations in response to an order from the California attorney general’s office, reports the Associated Press.

The trust hired Deloitte Financial Advisory Services to evaluate whether it had effectively carried out its policies to ensure ethical conduct among trustees and employees.

The move follows the indictment of the curator Marion True on charges that she acquired stolen artifacts from Greece and Italy for the Getty Museum. The California attorney general also reported instances of excessive spending by the trust’s former chief executive, Barry Munitz. (Neither Ms. True nor Mr. Munitz commented in the article.)
