Groups as diverse as the AARP, the American Medical Association, Pfizer, Families USA, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have devised a plan to decrease the number of uninsured Americans, reports The Seattle Times.
The plan, called Kids First, calls for insuring children from families whose incomes are not low enough to qualify for Medicaid but not high enough to have their own coverage. Kids First is also proposing a tax credit for families whose incomes are below 300 percent of the poverty line so that they are able to afford insurance.
