Former Health-Charity Official Pleads Guilty

A former official for the National Kidney Foundation of the Virginias, in Richmond, has pleaded guilty to embezzling nearly $170,000 from the charity over a six-year period, the Associated Press reports.
Robert B. Graves Jr., who was the organization’s accountant, pleaded guilty to six felony counts in connection to the theft. In exchange, prosecutors withdrew six similar charges.
Mr. Graves faces up to 20 years in prison and must repay $169,939, the sum authorities confirmed he wired into his personal bank account from Kidney Foundation funds.
Mr. Graves is scheduled to be sentenced on March 27.
