Marquette University Gets $25-Million
December 19, 2006
Marquette University, in Milwaukee, has received a $25-million pledge from an engineering alumnus and his wife, the Associated Press reports.
The money will be donated to the university’s College of Engineering, Marquette officials say.
The donors wish to remain anonymous, but the Rev. Robert A. Wild, the university’s president, said the benefactors are considering giving the engineering school $1-million a year in perpetuity. They said they would do so if it became clear that the engineering school had transformed itself into the leading engineering school at a Catholic university.
