TechMission of Boston has created a Web site that works to match volunteers with Christian opportunities in urban areas. Users can type their ZIP codes into a search engine and find a list of volunteer openings at Christian organizations. Christian nonprofit groups may post their volunteer needs free through TechMission. To get there: Go to http://ChristianVolunteering.org.

The United Nations Foundation, taking its cue from a Sports Illustrated column, last month started “Nothing But Nets,” an online campaign to fight malaria. The site asks visitors to donate $10 each, the cost of a pale-blue bednet that can protect multiple people from the mosquito-transmitted disease. The fund hopes to raise at least $1.2-million by the end of 2007. For more information: Go to http://www.NothingButNets.net.

Librarians are getting a hand in maintaining computers available for public use. The “Share Your Story” campaign, sponsored by the nonprofit group TechSoup, is collecting stories about how to fix common technical glitches and keep machines running smoothly. The best will be distilled into a how-to guide. For more information: Go to http://www.maintainitproject.org.
