November 8, 2006 | Read Time: 1 minute

Edward Bass, a Fort Worth billionaire who graduated from Yale University in 1968, has given $60-million toward the Yale Tomorrow campaign, which has a $3-billion goal, reports the Yale Daily News.

The gift brings to nearly $200-million the combined giving of the Bass family—whose wealth stems from an oil fortune and income from investments—to Yale through the years, the paper reports.

Mr. Bass’s father and three brothers are graduates of the university and have given gifts throughout the years. Edward Bass is currently serving on the buildings-and-grounds committee for the Yale Corporation, the university’s highest governing body.

Mr. Bass’s latest donation will pay for the renovation and construction of science facilities, reports The Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Mr. Bass is one of the chairmen of the Yale Tomorrow campaign, which has raised $1.3-billion.
