Getty Museum Adopts Stricter Acquisition Rules
October 31, 2006
Trustees at the J. Paul Getty Museum, in Los Angeles, have approved tougher regulations to guide the process of acquiring items for its collection, rules that aim to screen any item whose history since 1970 is questionable, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The change will not affect its existing collection. The museum and other significant cultural institutions have been under scrutiny for buying potentially looted objects.
