Obituary: Sally Lilienthal, Peace Activist

Sally Lilienthal, a sculptor who founded the Ploughshares Fund, a San Francisco foundation whose goal is the prevention of biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons, died this week at the age of 87, The Washington Post reports.
Ms. Lilienthal founded the organization in 1981 during the cold war. Since then, the group has given away more than $40-million, primarily for research.
