Red iPods to Raise Money for AIDS

October 13, 2006

Apple Computer and the rock star Bono have created a new iPod to raise money for charity, reports CNET News.com.

The iPod Nano Red Special Edition was released on Friday. For every unit sold, Apple will donate $10 to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

The device is part of Bono’s Product Red brand campaign, in which several companies including the Gap and Motorola sell red merchandise to raise money for AIDS groups.
