Artist Foundations Playing Bigger Role in Art World

Foundations established by well-known artists have increasingly become more involved in the art world, taking prominent roles alongside art dealers, collectors, and museums, reports The Wall Street Journal.

While historically such groups have focused primarily on lending artwork to museums, cataloging artists’ pieces, and looking after artists’ estates, they are becoming more active in selling art and setting up exhibits. (A paid subscription is required to view this article.)
