Donors Use Charities as Garbage Dumps
July 25, 2006
Donors regularly give misfit items, stained clothes, or other useless items to charities that collect goods, forcing the organizations to spend thousands on trash removal, reports the Star Tribune, in Minneapolis.
Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota, for example, spends about $600,000 a year to take away trash, or about 3 percent of annual sales.
