Rockefeller Grant to Help New Orleans Rebuild
July 11, 2006
New Orleans neighborhoods will get the chance to design their own recovery plans under a deal financed by the Rockefeller Foundation, in New York, and organized through the Greater New Orleans Foundation, reports The Times-Picayune.
Under the plan, financed largely by a $3.5-million grant from the New York institution, consultants will help residents develop ways to rebuild their neighborhoods. The agreement seems to enjoy political and financial support lacking in past citywide rebuilding efforts, the newspaper says.
