Yosemite National Park Establishes New Fund-Raising Policies
June 2, 2006
Yosemite National Park has established new policies that govern acknowledgments of corporate donors, reports McClatchy Newspapers.
The new policy bans donations from liquor and tobacco companies and prevents Mike Tollefson, the group’s superintendent, from explicitly soliciting donations from private sources.
The park had been criticized for announcing a plan to recognize donors with benches, billboards, and plaques prominently installed around Yosemite. The new rules prohibit such recognition efforts.
