Beginning with the 2005-6 campaign, the United Way of the National Capital Area will no longer report campaign projections, only audited results, Ric Edelman, the group’s chairman of the board, wrote in a letter to the editor in The Washington Post.
The letter was in response to articles about recent allegations of inflated fund-raising projections. Mr. Edelman said the organization has made many changes in the past several years and remains committed to increased efficiency and accountabilty.
