Foundation Center Announces New Institute

The Foundation Center, in New York, on Wednesday announced the creation of the Alexis Institute for Civil Society and Philanthropy, a think tank that will be operated by the center, according to the organization’s Web site.
The board and staff of the Foundation Center plan to raise $10-million for the institute.
Lester M. Salamon, currently professor and director of the Center for Civil Society Studies, at the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, has been tapped to lead the institute.
