Support for Anti-Illegal Immigration Group Grows
May 16, 2006
A nonprofit group opposed to illegal immigration has recorded a growth in membership and donations since recent protests against proposed legislation that would crack down on illegal immigration, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The group, Californians for Population Stabilization, saw its budget top $1-million this month and its membership exceed 15,000—an increase of more than 20 percent since the demonstrations began in March.
“They’re doing us a favor,” Diana Hull, the group’s president, said of the protestors.
