Trustee of Gallaudet U. Resigns
May 10, 2006
Celia May Baldwin, the interim head of the Board of Trustees of Gallaudet University, in Washington, resigned Tuesday from the deaf school’s board because of the stress caused by student protests that are objecting to the board’s choice for a Gallaudet president, reports The Washington Post.
Jane K. Fernandes, whose selection as incoming president set off the around-the-clock protests, has said she will not resign.
