Stars Seek Roles as Charity Supporters
May 9, 2006
Celebrities are realizing the value, both personal and professional, of having strong ties to nonprofit groups, reports Forbes magazine.
And having a star supporter holds strong benefits for charities, according to the article. Nahela Hadi, the executive director of Adopt-a-Minefield, said Paul McCartney’s support of the organization causes a “ripple effect,” the magazine reports.
“When people come to charity events and they see a celebrity, they want to know why the celebrity is there,” says Ms. Hadi. “They become interested and want to learn more about the charity and support the cause.”
