James Beard Foundation Seeks to Change Its Mission

After its entire board of trustees quit last year, and its president went to jail for stealing from the nonprofit organization, the James Beard Foundation, in New York, is rethinking its mission of culinary education and preservation, reports The New York Times.
With a new president and a completely new board, the foundation’s chairwoman, Dorothy Cann Hamilton, said the nonprofit group now plans to conduct research on food and act as a resource for the government and the food industry.
