Popularity of New York Charity Galas Wanes

Well-heeled New Yorkers say they are more selective of the charity galas they attend because the number of such events has risen, reports Bloomberg News. To be sure, some fund-raising events remain quite popular—and lucrative.
For example, the Robin Hood Foundation, in New York, raised $11.3-million when it hosted more than 5,600 partygoers at Radio City Music Hall last month for a private concert by the Rolling Stones.
