White House’s Faith-Based Leader Resigns
April 18, 2006
James Towey, director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, has resigned, reports The New York Times. Mr. Towey is to become president of St. Vincent College, in Pennsylvania.
The move comes a day after President Bush’s newly appointed chief of staff, Joshua Bolten, said he was considering making substantial changes in the White House staff to “refresh and re-energize” the office.
