New Zealander To Give Away $40.5-Million
April 4, 2006
Gareth Morgan, a New Zealand economist and newspaper columnist, said he will donate to charity the $40.5-million he recently earned from the sale of his son’s Internet business, reports The Sydney Morning Herald, in Australia. Mr. Morgan said his philanthropy was inspired by his travels around the world, including a motorcycle trip in the Middle East, that made him realize how “bloody well off we are.”
