Celebrity Auctions Often Disappoint Donors

Celebrity auctions are becoming more and more popular on the fund-raising circuit, netting large sums and providing flashy marketing tools for charities, but it’s most often the donor who loses out, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Although many star figures readily volunteer their time and fame for “dates” with the winning bidder, such commitments frequently result in cancellations and no-shows.
