A Guide for Nonprofit CEO’s

February 23, 2006 | Read Time: 1 minute

The Nonprofit Chief Executive’s Ten Basic Responsibilities, by Richard L. Moyers, analyzes how a CEO of a charitable organization can best work with the group’s board of directors. Written as a companion guide to the publisher’s Ten Basic Responsibilities of Nonprofit Boards, the guide is intended for new chief executives as well as veteran nonprofit leaders who wish to sharpen the definition of their role in relation to the trustees. The 10 chapters focus on ethics, finance and fund raising, planning for the future, programs, and managing staff members. Three appendices cover what a nonprofit executive’s job description and personal qualities should be, and include a self-assessment quiz to help chief executives determine which areas of their leadership could bear improvement.
