HALLMARK COLLECTION
February 22, 2006
In an unusual move, Hallmark Cards last month donated much of its prestigious photography collection to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, in Kansas City, Mo., transforming the museum into an international resource for photography, reports The New York Times. Hallmark Cards donated a significant portion of the collection, which is estimated to be worth $65-million; the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation made a donation to the museum to allow it to purchase the balance of the collection.
