UPDATE: KING CENTER

February 10, 2006 | Read Time: 1 minute

Mourners who have paid tribute to Coretta Scott King’s memory in recent days could provide a much-needed infusion of cash to the nonprofit organization she founded to honor her late husband, reports the Associated Press. “I think there’s just going to be an outpouring of gifts,” says Andrew Young, a member of the King Center board and a former aide to Martin Luther King Jr. But how such donations could affect the future of the memorial is unclear, as Ms. King’s four children remain divided over whether to maintain control over the memorial or sell it to the National Park Service.
