The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, after a year of soaring profits, has committed $100-million to its corporate foundation, reports the Midland Daily News, in Michigan. The money will help the foundation recover from several difficicult years, when its donations have dropped to $17-million annually from a high point of $23-million. “We had gotten to the point where the foundation did not have a functioning reserve,” said Bo Miller, director of corporate citizenship and global contribution and CEO of the Dow Foundation. “In all likelihood we will see some additional contributions. It will be a floating balance to deal with cycles and the unexpected.”
