ARCHITECTURAL PRESERVATION
January 19, 2006
The Global Heritage Fund, a California nonprofit organization, is working to help restore endangered world heritage sites, reports The Wall Street Journal. Founded in 2001 by Jeff Morgan, the organization has raised more than $5-million for 10 major world sites, and distinguishes itself from similar organizations by working exclusively in the developing world and on major cradles of civilization. The organization also targets sites that can be developed to ensure long-term sustainability through tourism. (A paid subscription is required to view this article.)
