ABSTINENCE-ONLY GROUPS

The American Civil Liberties Union, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, and the Freedom from Religion Foundation have sued several religious groups for using federal grant money to promote abstinence among young people, charging that their spending violates the separation between church and state, reports the Chicago Tribune. The lawsuits allege that the Bush administration is doing too little to monitor how federal money is being used by such groups.
