Donations Reported by 432 United Ways for 2003-4

United Ways across the country raised $3.59-billion in their 2003-4 campaigns, a decline of 3.2 percent from the previous year after adjusting for inflation. United Ways also raise money through other means; the total revenue of United Ways was $4.05-billion, or 2.8 percent more than the previous year. Following are the results from 432 campaigns supplied by United Way of America.

The campaign figures show money raised from on-the-job drives, appeals to foundations, and other solicitations. They also include the proceeds from state and federal government campaigns that were run by United Way. The total revenue figure includes those funds, plus money brought in from government grants, corporate sponsorships, planned and major gifts, as well as from investment income and other sources.
