Edwards Releases Details of His Charitable Giving
September 16, 2004
The Democratic nominee for vice president, John Edwards, and his wife, Elizabeth, donated more than $3.3-million to charity from 1994 through 2003, according to his campaign office.
The gifts represent 8.6 percent of the nearly $39-million in total income that the couple reported for the same period.
Mr. Edwards’s earnings stem largely from his career as a lawyer.
President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and the Democratic presidential nominee, John Kerry, released information about their contributions earlier this year (The Chronicle, April 29).
