Dream Builders: Everything You Need to Know to Achieve Your Organizations Most Ambitious Dreams With Top Gifts Fundraising, by Nick G. Costa, offers advice designed to help nonprofit organizations run fund-raising campaigns. Mr. Costa, senior vice president for fund development at the Stamford Health System, in Connecticut, uses the acronym Top Gifts to highlight the key aspects of campaigns, including timing, people, and stewardship. He describes how to set fund-raising goals, attract donors, and thank contributors. His book provides examples of fund-raising materials for a youth baseball team, a theater, a university, and several other institutions. The book gives suggestions on determining when an organization is ready to begin a campaign, as well as ideas on writing grant proposals and keeping track of prospective donors.
