Advice for Foundations Supporting Collaborations

April 15, 2004 | Read Time: 1 minute

Getting Better Together: A Foundation Report on Collaboration Grantsdescribes several nonprofit-group partnerships that have received financing from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, in Atlanta. The report profiles five collaborations, including one between a theater company and a refugee organization, and another between a community foundation and 11 groups working to support youth programs. The guide offers advice for nonprofit groups that are considering or are already involved in a collaboration and for foundations that want to support such projects. For example, most of the organizations cited in the report recommended that foundations check the progress of collaborations at the midpoint of the grant period.
