Baptists give more, on average, to the churches they attend than do members of any other Protestant denomination, according to a new survey.
Adults who attend Baptist churches, the survey found, donate an average of $28.85 to their churches each week. The average weekly contribution among all Protestant groups, according to the survey, is $23.50.
The survey, by Barna Research Group, a marketing research company in Ventura, Cal., is based on telephone interviews with 604 leaders of Protestant churches around the country.
